HANLON,

FRANCIS C. (FRANK)

It is with great sorrow we report the passing of Dad. Frank was born in Plymouth, England on May 5, 1910, emigrated to Canada for the last time in May 1967 and died Dec. 5, 2003. My Dad is survived by his son; Michael (Wendy); 3 grandchildren, Ted (Laurie), Gerry and Amy (T.C.), 1 great-grandchild Wendy Jean and his sister Sheila in England. Frank was predeceased by the light in his life, his wife: Win in 1995. They resided in Victoria where Dad worked for the University of Victoria until his retirement. Mum and Dad managed several apartment blocks in Victoria before coming to Campbell River to be closer to us, his family. Dad loved golf, was a member of Cedar Hill and shot a solid 84. He was a well known businessman and sportsman in England - Shell Oil Company and owner operation of Newton Road Service Station and in his younger days he was one of the better welter weights out of the Apollo Club of Torquay. Frank was a good husband, father and those of us who knew him will understand when I say "Patsy Calahan" could not answer the bell in his final fight. This man was my "DAD". Grateful and heartfelt thanks to Dr. Woldnik and nursing staff and volunteers and the Cumberland Lodge. You all have that special touch. No service by request and cremation to follow. ISLAND FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES / ELK FALLS CREMATORIUM, 103 - 909 Island Highway entrusted with arrangements.
