Frances Ruxton Ring
November 17, 1922 – December 19, 2011
Fran Ring passed away peacefully surrounded by love on December 19, 2011 at the Campbell River Hospital. She was a loving, kind and graceful lady whose greatest love was her family. Fran was born in Toronto, Ontario on November 17, 1922 to Dr. Frank and Margaret Abbott. On a trip out west Fran met and married her soul mate Karl in Duncan, BC. They returned to Toronto where their three children were born, but the lure of the west coast brought them back to the Island in 1974 where they settled in Campbell River, BC. Fran enjoyed being part of PEO, Chapter AZ, where she was a charter member.
Fran is survived by her loving children, Michael (Nancy) of Victoria, Christine Hay (Ian) and Stephen (Pam) of Campbell River. She was a wonderful loving Nana to Treve (Ross), Meghan (Brad), Andrew (Eliza) and Dayton, and “Nana the Great” to Avys, Rove, Carys and Michael. She is also survived by her sister Joyce Brown of Bracebridge, Ontario. She was predeceased by her husband Karl in 1985, sisters Joan Scott and Elinore Breen and brother Ian Blair.
Fran’s life was all about family and friends and she left a legacy of love, laughter and kindness for us all.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Sutton’s Funeral Home,
