Frances Florence Linder

June 10, 1923-April 5, 2012

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our wife and mother, Frances Florence Linder. She passed away peacefully at home with the family by her side after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Frances was born in Goodeve, Saskatchewan on June 10, 1923 to parents, Wally and Joanne Zapshala. She was predesceased by her parents, four sisters and six brothers and first husband, Andrew. She will be forever missed by her loving husband, Edward, one brother

Harold and her daughters Geraldine Melenchuk of Hamilton, Ontario and Gayle Black of Courtenay, BC, all the loves of her life, her beloved grand-children: Leah Pictin(Steve),

Tyler Melenchuk(Olya), Ryan Melenchuk(Maria) and Heidi Ursuliak(Jonathan), Gina Butts(Cameron) and five

great-grand-children: Natasha, Megan, Landon, Zya and Lula.

After leaving the farm at age 18, she met and

married her first husband, Andrew Pacholko and during the war years, lived in Britannia Mines, North Vancouver and Prince George, finally settling in Campbell River in 1947. Her passion for hockey was a vice that she took personally if the Canucks lost, together with the Blue Jays and fishing rounded out her favourite vices.

Widowed in 1965, she later married Edward, living in Powell River, Nassau, Bahamas and Kamloops, settling back in Campbell River where they retired and carried on the pastimes fishing, canning, her green thumb and her uncanny ability to strike up a conversation with anyone. She was always ready with advice and compassion.

Frances will be missed by so many. There will be no service.
