Ethel Mary Robinson (nee Carmichael) was born in Queen Charlotte City on August 30, 1928. She was the youngest of eight children. She lived there until her marriage to Adam James (Jim) Robinson on October 16, 1946. They moved to Campbell River that same year and have lived here for the past 60 years.

In addition to her husband, her family includes her children George (Lorna), John (Dawn) of Campbell River and Heather (Norm) of Redmond WA., grandchildren Ty, Blake, Abbie, Kim and Nicole, great grandchildren Matthew and Eryn and her surviving siblings Bessie, Jim and Cathie, also numerous nieces and nephews.

Her family and friends remember her for her gourmet cooking and huge meals and desserts. Ethel enjoyed golfing, travelling, sewing, quilting, knitting and swimming. Over a period of years she swam laps at Strathcona Pool equal to the circumference of Vancouver Island.

Ethel’s life will be celebrated at 1:00pm on Saturday, September 15th at the Robinson residence, 467 Ash Street, Campbell River. An Open House will follow. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to your favourite charity.
