Ernest Roy Anderson

March 18, 2003

January 20th, 1918 ~ March 18th, 2003.

Passed away at Yuculta Lodge, his home for the past four and a half years.

Roy was born in Elgin (White Rock), B.C. He was a Navy Veteran and moved to Campbell River in 1950 to work on the construction of the Pulp Mill and stayed on to build many houses and buildings in this growing town. He loved the outdoor life, hunting, fishing, camping, playing pool and his flower gardens.

Roy was predeceased by his beloved wife, Marie, in 1984. He is survived by his sons: Roy Jr. (Sylvia), John (Shannon), daughter Charlotte (Mike Taylor), sisters: Alice Harris, Irene Paso, grandchildren: Duane Taylor (Traci Porteous), Joy Taylor (Simon Walker), Derek and Kylie Anderson, great grandsons: Luke and Wyatt Walker, many caring nieces and nephews and his life long best friend Jim Fraser.

A gathering of friends and family will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion on Sunday, March 30th, 2003 at 11:00am.

The family is grateful to Dr. M. Meckin for his compassionate care of Dad and to ALL the staff at Yuculta Lodge for their warm and wonderful care, making his last years as enjoyable as possible.
