It is with great sadness that the family of Erich Geddert announce his passing on March 4, 2025. Erich was born August 15th 1958 in Friesland, Paraguay.
Erich's family immigrated to Canada in 1965 and lived in South Vancouver, where Erich grew up and met his future wife Brenda. After receiving his BCIT Forestry Diploma, Erich worked for MacMillan Bloedel in Haida Gwaii. In 1988, Erich and Brenda settled in Campbell River and raised their two children while Erich worked for Coast Forest Management, The Ministry of Forests, and the Victoria Timber Pricing Branch.
Erich enjoyed gardening, exploring new countries, searching for chanterelles, being the house handyman, listening to music and avidly following his favorite hockey team, the Vancouver Canucks. He was a dedicated father and husband and was a very proud grandfather.
Erich is survived by his wife Brenda, his two children, Anna (Chris Backhouse) and John (Helena Snopek) as well as his two granddaughters, Molly Backhouse and Abigail Geddert. He is also survived by his three sisters, Barb Dyck, Helen Young, Monika Stroscher, and their families.
A Celebration of Life will he held at his home when his beloved garden is in bloom. Time TBA. Donations in Erich's memory can be made to the B.C. Cancer Foundation.
