It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing due to a heart problem of our first born son, Eric Gustafson, who we were very proud of. He was born in Port McNeill on July 25, 1982 and passed away in Kamloops, BC on July 3, 2017. He is survived by his 3 children: Evan, Skyla and Calium. Parents Glen and Debbie Gustafson, brother Brad (Rena) and sister Beckie (Caley). Grandparents Laura Scott, Theresa and Gordie Gustafson. Nephews Lucas Golgan, Caleb Gustafson and niece Alyza Stump, Aunts and uncles Gordie and Ginger Gustafson, Debbie & Rob Benoit, Tammy & Ted Squire, Mike & Nik Scott and Randy Scott as well as a number of cousins. He is predeceased by his grandfather Lorne Scott and uncles Carl and Billy Scott.
Eric was born in Port McNeill but spent most of his life in Campbell River along with cousins Terri-Lynn, Robert, Kelsey, Cheyenne, Laura, Randi, Angie, Theresa, Wesley, Garrett, Tanis, Amanda & Jordan. They formed great friendships that followed him through his life. Eric enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with his dad and brother. He finally settled in Kamloops and was raising his daughter Skyla. To his brother and wife, Brad & Rena, and to his sister and husband, Beckie and Caley, he was not only a brother but a best friend as well. To his nephew Lucas, he was more a brother than an uncle. Eric had a special bond with his grandmother and touched the lives of people he called family and friends. We were all blessed to have him in our lives and to have loved and been loved by him.
Till we meet again, Erick, know that your passing has left a huge hole in our family. You will forever be remembered and loved.
