Elsie Anderson passed away peacefully in Campbell River with her family close by on June 3/2019. She was born in 1939, at Britannia Beach, B.C. and grew up in the upper townsite known as Mount Sheer. She attended high school in Squamish and then went to UBC.
After spending some time in Edmonton, in 1969 Elsie moved back to Squamish where she taught grade one at Stawamus and Squamish elementary schools for over 30 years.
After retiring she moved to Campbell River and continued her involvement in educational and social affairs.
She is survived by her brother Eric, and sister Alice, sons Gary (Dawn), Randy (Pina), daughter Kim, grandchildren, Aaron, Ashley, Juliana and Daniel as well as great grandchildren, Javen, Karina, Emmet, and her many cherished friends, and students.
Elsie will be remembered for her selflessness, and hope for a better world.
Her spirit of generosity will live on in everyone she touched.
Honouring Elsie's request there will be no formal funeral. Donations can be made to BC Cancer Society.
