It is with great sadness that the family of Eleanor Sumner announces her passing Friday morning May 31, 2019 at the age of 85 years.
Eleanor will be remembered and cherished by her loving husband, her soulmate of 74 years, Don and her surviving children, Candice, Vicky (Barry), Michelle and Randy, as well as her step-son Robert (Gillian). Eleanor will be sorely missed and forever remembered by her grandchildren Wade (Shelagh), Darren (Colleen), Clayton (Robyn), Cole (Julie), Tara (Warren), Justin and Nicole. Many great-grandchildren were also held dear in her heart - Dominic, Kira, Madison, Olivia, Violet, Stephanie, Sierra, Halle and Jayce.
Thank you to her dearest long-time friends Grace Feller and Wanda Merkely whose friendships she valued so highly.
Eleanor was pre-deceased by her father Earl Humphrey, her mother Beatrice Hardy, her sisters Pat and Yvonne, her brother John as well as many loved friends, but the heartache of her life was the loss of her daughter Donna, to cancer in 2004. Her joy will be in reuniting with those gone before.
Eleanor never forgot her life lessons and the hardships she overcame in life. It was her soul's mission to be generous and kind to others, those who had nothing and those who needed a friend and to love her family with all her heart. You could count on her to speak her mind, voice her opinion and defend those who could not defend themselves. A great lady.
Nothing loved is ever lost And she was loved so much
There will be no memorial as per her request. Those who wish to may donate to a charity of their choice in her memory.
