It is with heavy but thankful hearts we say farewell to a dear husband, dad and dziadek. Ed passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 4, 2010 at the age of 84.
Predeceased by daughter Barbara Heuvelman, Ed leaves behind his wife of 57 years, Stella and his children whom he was very proud; Mike (Sylvia), Mary (Peter), Chris (Sheila), Bob (Martine), Lucy (Gord), Christine (Kevin), Greg (Coleen) and Jennie, his 19 much loved grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Born in Poland, married in Vancouver, he worked as a Pipefitter and raised his family in Ocean Falls. Ed moved his family to Campbell River in 1973 to work at Elk Falls Mill. He will be remembered for his love, determined spirit, quick wit and willingness to help those in need. Special thanks to Dr. Coetzee and all the nurses on the 3rd floor for their caring, loving hands.
A prayer vigil and visitation will be held Friday, October 8th at 5:00pm; the Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, October 9th at 11:00am. Both the vigil and Mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, 34 South Alder Street, Campbell River, BC. A reception will follow Saturday’s service at the church hall. Ed requested no flowers but for those wishing, donations may be made in his name to the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of your choice.
