It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Doug on the morning of September 17th.

Doug is predeceased by his parents Frank and June Jones as well as his younger brother Kevin and his nephew Jeremy Woods. He is survived by his daughter Laura (Mike) of Dawson Creek and his son Derek of Vancouver. Doug will be missed by his brothers Lance (Doreen), Rod (Gail), Frank (Audrey), and Greg (Bev), sisters Colleen Woods (Terry) and Kathy Rawlins (Jim) of Edmonton and sister-in-law Diane and their families as well his wife Donna and brothers-in-law Dwayne (Sherry) and Aaron. Doug's large family also consisted of numerous nephews and nieces and their families who all shared a special bond with their uncle.

Doug moved with his family to Campbell River in 1965 and attended Cedar Elementary and Carihi. In 1976 he started his heavy duty mechanic apprenticeship with M&B. His career as a Heavy Duty Mechanic spanned over 35 years with them as well as Weyerhaeuser and WFP.

The family would like to thank Dr. Douglas as well as all the nurses and staff of CR Hospital for their care. In such trying times, it was always a comfort to know Doug’s best interests were at heart. We would also like to thank his neighbours Tom and Mary Ellen Yeoman. Doug could always depend on you for help and for that we appreciate your kindness towards him.
