Douglas S Gilmour, passed away peacefully at the age of 83, at C.R. Hospital in Campbell River. He was born in Iroquois, Ont. Doug lived in Edmonton for 57 yrs before retiring to the Island. He was a man of many careers before settling into sales, selling everything from souvenirs, to race horses, to cars. He had a great joy, love and sense of pride for family. He was a big man with a kind, gentle heart. He was bigger than life with a twinkle in his eyes & a grin that always made you smile. Doug enjoyed reading, watching sports, horses and never turned down a game of cards.
He is survived by the love of his life for 60 years Lois (Pridham), His daughter Janet (Baker), son-in-law Mark Baker. His Grandchildren Sandra Gilmour, Felicia (Martin), Liana Gilmour, John (Baker), & Kaitlyn (Baker). His 6 Great Grand Children Dakota, Larissa, Mateo, Douglas, Aiden & Finnley, and his brother John Gilmour.
He is predeceased by his parents Sylvester Gilmour & Hannah (Tracey), his son Doug Gilmour & daughter Laura Gilmour, also his sister Jean (Kyer). Rest in peace Doug, we will miss you dearly.
A big thank you to Dr. Noel & the nurses at C.R. Hospital for their kindness & care, not only for Doug but his wife & daughter, during his final days.
