In loving memory ~
Doug woke with a smile. His life full of many adventures exploring, trapping, hunting and fishing across Canada.
Along with his sister Marlene (Stan), and brothers Larry, Mike (Estrella), and Randy, his friends were part of his family.
He so enjoyed life growing up in Ontario, and those memories made with his Mom Jean and Dad Burt, sister, brothers, friends, many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins nieces Lou Anne, Jean, Kate, nephews Dave, Nick, Paul, David, Mike, Mark, and Jake.
Doug was married in 1971 to Gwen. They headed out for an adventure in BC, finding their forever home.
He gave her love, encouragement, and confidence. A Rock of support, and the Sunshine that made every day special. He called her his apprentice, sometimes his foreman, and often his safety supervisor.
Moving to Campbell River in 1975, fishing became his comfort place. Family called him Captain; and any time he could be out on the water, there was family or friends along.
His sons, Jim and Robert (Michelle), and grandson Matthew held a special place in his heart. He was proud of all of them for their special personalities and many interests and accomplishments.
Mr Mack has been a comfort to him these past few years.
We will all miss Doug for the
extraordinary person he was.
Thank you to Dr. Brian Carswell, Dr. S Naicker, Dr. J Grace, the Emergency and Ambulance staff and the Campbell River Hospital Staff for all their care with our family over our many years in Campbell River.
