May 6, 1977 - February 23, 2019
Doug passed away on Saturday February 23, 2019 at 41 yrs old. He was born in Campbell River on May 6, 1977 to Bob and Sharon Rentz.

He is survived by his wife Tracey, daughters Kayla and Alyssa, mother Sharon and father Bob, brothers Robert (Michelle), Russell (Quinn), nephews Dilan and Ryan.

Doug loved his family, friends, hunting, fishing and the RCMP. Doug really looked forward to the annual moose hunting trip with his family to the Northern Interior where he always wanted to shoot the biggest moose. He always enjoyed helping other people, either to lend a helping hand or repairing something around the house, as he was very handy and a jack of all trades. He started his electrical career at the age of 19 years old and bought a house at the age of 20. Later on he became an Electrical Contractor with his own company, then an Electrical Inspector in Port Alberni for 2 years. While working in the electrical business he was an Auxiliary Police Officer for 5 years in Campbell River. But his dream to become a RCMP officer became reality in June 2010 when he graduated from the training academy in Regina. He was a Constable for 9 years split between 6 years in Terrace and 3 years in Port Alberni.

Doug was full of life, outgoing, full of laughter, joy, and always looking for a new hunting adventure. Doug will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Rest in Peace.

Doug's Service will be held on Monday March 4th, 2 pm at the Alberni Athletic Hall, 3727 Roger Street in Port Alberni.
