Dorsey passed peacefully at Campbell River Hospital on Sunday, December 19, 2004. He was predeceased by his son; Johnny Clayton, daughter; Shirley Pattison and 9 brothers and sisters. Dorsey is survived by his loving wife of 70 years; Melba, son; Greg (Susan) of Campbell River, daughter-in-law; Carol of Comox, grandchildren; Joanne (Dave), Jill (Phil), Holly (Kyle) and Kyle, great grandchildren; Tyler and Megan, sister; Geneva Baird of Campbell River and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dorsey farmed in Alberta until 1948 them moved to the Comox Valley where he was a hand faller at Comox Logging. He retired from falling in 1973 from Kelsey Bay and then moved to Campbell River to enjoy salmon fishing and “gardening”. Dorsey boxed professionaly from 1930 until 1936. Donations in Dorsey’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society Resource Centre, 1423-B- 16th Ave., Campbell River, B.C. V9W 2E4 would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to Island Funeral Services/Elk Falls Crematorium, #103-909 Island Highway, CAMPBELL RIVER.
