Dorothy June

Hustead

Our Mom/Nana/Friend passed away suddenly on April 11th, 2011.

Born in Vancouver on December 29, 1931, Dorothy graduated from Vancouver Technical. She enjoyed her working life at First Union Steamships, BC Hospital Insurance, and in the White Spot Head Office.

In 1991 Dorothy made her home in Courtenay where she put her creative hands to crafting, gardening, and baking. She is best remembered as the “Lemon Loaf Lady” because her delicious lemon loafs were always a popular item at the local flea markets.

Dorothy will be sadly missed by her son Mark (Linda), and her daughters Melanie (Peter), and Leslie (Teresa), as well as her grandchildren Kevin, Mathew, Joey, Melissa, Heather, and her many great-grandchildren. She will also be remembered by her best friends Trudy Moisson, Bud Robotham, and all of her friends at the Comox Senior’s Centre.

There will be no service at her request.

A family gathering will be held at a later date.

Your condolences will be approved within one business day. You will need a valid Facebook account. Please email us if you have any questions.
