Dorothy Anne Helena "Dot" DAWSON

August 23, 2007

DAWSON,

Dorothy Anne Helena "Dot"

December 23, 1941-

August 23, 2007

Dot passed away quite suddenly at Campbell River Hospital on August 23, 2007, with her daughter at her bedside. She was predeceased by her partner Don Clarke; her parents George and Florence Mindach and her sisters Trudy, Thelma and Shirley.

Dot is survived by her daughter Rhonda Godin; grandchildren Janna and Kyle Tippe; brothers Charles (Maureen), William (Anne) and Gerald (Elsie); sisters Norma Thompson and Karen Larsen and many nieces and nephews.

Dot worked for many years at United Cigar stores in Vancouver and when she moved to Campbell River she worked at a card and the Doghouse Store. She spent her last 5 years working at the Minstril Island Resort where she had many happy times and memories. Her and Don spent many hours in the Knight Inlet area just fishing to their hearts content. Dot loved bingo and fishing not necessarily in that order. She was an avid card player, a professional shopper and an excellent crochet artist. She gifted many friends with her exquisite creations and created many heirlooms for us to treasure. She was an outgoing friendly gracious and engaging personality. She was the best friend you could have and could always be counted on in a pinch. She was known as Aunty Dot to all and will be surely missed by all who knew her and loved her. There are no words to express our sorrow at our loss.

A Celebration of Dot's Life will be held at 3870 Discovery Drive on Saturday, September 1st, 2007 at 2 p.m. Helpful hands can call Donna at 286-0667. Donations can be made in Dot's memory to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation, P.O. Box 741, Campbell River, BC V9W 6J3.
