April 24, 1927 - May 29, 2020
1927-2020 ~ Dorothy passed away peacefully with her family at her side at the Discovery Harbour Seniors Community on Friday May 29th, 2020 at the age of 93.
Dorothy will be missed by her children Aileen (Iain), Neil (Heather) and Maureen, her grandchildren, Lucas, Katie, William and Evelyn, her sister Margaret (Dave) Setso, literally hundreds of nieces, nephews, cousins, and all their families and friends.
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Phil, her parents Margaret and Richard Lahue, her brothers and sisters Bill (Marie) Lahue, Mildred (Stewart) Hill, Charles (Doris) Lahue, Edward Lahue, Mabelle (Nick) Strobbe, Mary (Ivan) Taylor, Roger (Bertha) Lahue, and Johnny (Roberta) Lahue.
Dorothy was born near Nora, Saskatchewan on April 24th, 1927. After being a second mother to many people, she married Louis Philippe (Phil) Gaudreault on August 4th, 1962 in Vancouver and moved to Port Alice. In 1965 they moved to Campbell to raise their family.
Dorothy was an inspiration to her family, friends and the community, leading and teaching by example. She was a founding member of the Campbell River and District Association for Community Living, a foster parent and very active in her faith community.
A special thanks to the amazing staff at Discovery Harbour and Ironwood Assisted Living for the loving and dignified way they cared for Dorothy and our family over the last couple of years and especially in the last days of her life.
