In loving memory ~
It is with great sadness and sorrow yet also so much love that we say our farewell to Dorothea Mae Wilson of Campbell River B.C. and announce her peaceful passing on November 28th, 2022 of natural causes at Ocean View Village in Courtney B.C with her loving sister Muriel (Cookie) at her side.
Mae was born in Canora, Saskatchewan in December 1929 to William and Pearl (Skillman) Boswell. On November 18th, 1950, she married her sweetheart James Wesley Wilson (Wes) in Regina Saskatchewan.
Mae and Wes moved to Los Angeles, California in 1955. They eventually made their home in Reseda, California for 36 years. They had two sons William E. Wilson and Jeffrey O. Wilson. While she was busy raising her children and managing a home, Mae made time for various interests and jobs. Mae was a magnificent crafter and an active member of the Congregational Church of Northridge. She worked for All State inventory service for many years, and at the California State University of Northridge as a cashier in the cafeteria. In the summer of 1991, Mae and Wes moved back to Canada to Campbell River, B.C.
Mae's biggest love and interest were always her family and friends. Mae always had a smile on her face and she always made sure you were smiling with her. She spent her winters visiting her sons and grandchildren in California and golfing in Arizona.
Mae called Berwick by The Sea in Campbell River B.C. her home for seven years. After COVID Mae spent three months in the hospital in Campbell River. She was then moved to Priory Hospital in Victoria where she received incredible care from the staff. The opportunity became available to move Mae closer to her home and family in Courtenay at Ocean View Village where she received amazing care and had an unbelievable view of the ocean from her room.
Mae was a very lovable and patient person.
She will be missed dearly.
Left to cherish her memory are son, Willian (Bill) Wilson, daughter-in-law Anne Wilson, son, Jeffrey O. Wilson, daughter-in-law Leslie Wilson, grandson, Christopher J. Wilson, grandson, Jeffrey D.
