Doreen Mae (Rhodes) (Glass) Gibbons, passed peacefully March 1, 2023 at The Views in Comox. She was born in Victoria on June 22, 1941 and moved to Campbell River where she worked hard, cooked, cleaned, sewed, created, painted and gardened. Doreen then moved into the Views at St. Joseph's in Comox.
Mom, Nana Banana, GG, she told it like it is. Her love was unconditional and her sense of humour hid her dementia.
"We love you as big as the sky", we hope you are gardening with ease while enjoying a martini or two.
The staff at The Views are to be thanked for allowing Doreen to get the most of her final years.
Doreen is predeceased by her parents Jack & Gladys Caldwell; brother Barry Rhodes; and daughter Dena Glass.
Doreen is survived by her sister Barbara Aebi; son Darrel (Bellinda); daughter Deidre (Jim); grandchildren Ashley; Kim (Darren); Lynsey (Ryan), great grandkids Tristin; Dayton; Darius; Ava; Daelynn; Gabby; and Brady, Extended family Linda (Moe); David (Terri); Jimmy (Tina), and numerous nieces; nephews; cousins and friends.
A Tea and Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
