Captain Donald Stephen Larson (Burnaby, BC)
February 9, 1943 – March 13, 2015
Predeceased by son Owen, father Stan, mother Theda. Survived by and mourning his loss are brother Bob Larson, Diane LaBarre, Stacey Larson (Michael), Rosalie Larson (Bob,) relatives and respected friends Tom Ward, Ron Lowe, Don Rose, Dennis Overstall to name a few.
Don was born in Duncan, BC into the tugboat life. He worked for many different companies over his life as Skipper and as Shore Engineer, which took him to many parts of the world.
His whole life was devoted to his passion for boats, engines and people, working out the forever problems of “what makes it tick.”
Fifty plus years of accident free skippering tugboats is a record, which earned him the respect of being called The Legend amongst mariners, tug boaters and pilots in Vancouver, the Fraser River and the BC Coast.
Always remembered, Captain Don Larson, Brother, Uncle, Friend. You truly earned the respect of many and the name “The Legend.” We will miss you.
