Born September 29, 1915 in Stirling, Scotland and passed away peacefully at the Campbell River Hospital on July 19, 2006.
During the Second World War Donald met his future wife Rita Watkins, and at the end of the war he moved to Canada where they married and resided in Hamilton, Ontario. For many years Donald worked as the Superintendent of Water Works for the Region of Hamilton/Wentworth. Donald was a long-time member of the Argyle and Sutherland Highlanders in Hamilton as well as a member of the Dofasco Pipe Band.
Upon his retirement he and Rita relocated to Campbell River, BC where they made many friends through their association with the local Campbell River Pipe Band.
Donald was predeceased by his wife, Rita Marjory Watkins on August 29, 1994. He will be sadly missed by his children; Gordon (Karen), Jane (partner Randy); grandchildren, Cayley and Leathan, brother (Alastair (Ann), sister Catherine, as well as the many friends he made throughout his life.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
