Donald Douglas Dewar

July 22, 1934-September 2, 2012

Bud Dewar passed away unexpectedly on September 02, 2012 at the age of 78.

Bud was born in Vancouver, BC. He was raised on Cortes Island where he once again settled in his later years.

Bud was adventurous and not easily daunted. He cleared land with his cat and logged and beachcombed. He always dreamed of flying and got his helicopter license in his early forties. Bud pioneered the flying of shake blocks up and down the coast. He ran tug and barge for many years. His love for animals and flying remained close to his heart.

He will always be remembered as an amazing story teller and for his many pranks that he was famous for. He will be sadly missed by family and friends.

No service by request. There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday September 8th 2012 on Cortes Island to be held at his daughter Ellen’s home at 2:00p.m (1590 Carrington Bay Road).
