With the most broken of hearts we are sad to announce the passing of our beloved Husband, Father, and Grandpa (Po) after a brief illness with his family by his side.
Don was born in Campbell River to Ingolf and Helen Forberg. He was raised in Willow Point and remained there throughout his life. Dad was a well known, loved and respected contractor and was responsible for building many homes in our little town.
At just 19 years old Don and Lorraine had their first daughter Tammy with Barb coming along 2 years later. We are all so blessed to have such a wonderful role model for a Dad. Although sometimes he was a quiet man he enjoyed to lovingly tease people around him with nicknames and pranks making his magnetic personality so easy for others to feel close to him and enjoy his company. Simply put he was just FUN to be around.
Dad enjoyed the outdoors especially fishing, hunting, and camping with his favorite spot being Beer Belly Flats.
Don always put his family first and was so very proud of his granddaughters Lexy and Brookie. His eyes sparkled every time he was with them. He taught them to also be passionate about being out in the wilderness.
Dad is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 48 years Lorraine, daughters Tammy Forberg (Barry Bowden), and Barb Forberg, granddaughters Alexis Bowden and Brooklyn Bowden, Brothers Peter Forberg (Annie), and Barry Forberg (Sue). Also numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Predeceased by his parents Ingolf and Helen Forberg and sister- in law Sharon Christensen.
At this time we cannot begin to imagine our life without this extraordinary man in it. We would like to sincerely thank all of our family, and friends for all of their calls, messages, flowers and food along with their unwavering support during this difficult time.
