Diane Constance Kirkby, 52, born June 13, 1963, left us on December 29, 2015 after a long, courageous battle. Diane conquered all of the obstacles forced upon her until now. Diane is survived by her husband Tom, children Amber (Kalen), Robert, Jamie, Brett (Lyndsay), Kristie (Paul), parents Dick and Connie, mother-in-law Shirley, and her beautiful grandchildren Makenna, Trevor and Maya (among many others).
Diane’s passion was her children; they gave her the strength to beat cancer twice, among numerous other difficulties. She even spent a few years as a volunteer driver for the Canadian Cancer Society. She found joy in helping people, before becoming too sick to continue. Diane was very private; however, everyone working at the hospital always knew who she was.
Two people in particular we would like to thank for all their help through the years are Dr. Marie Noel and Dr. Nicol MacPherson.
Diane Kirkby showed us that even if life is difficult, you can still enjoy it.
A Celebration of Life will be held this June. Details will be announced closer to the date.
