Derk, Willem “Dick”
of Campbell River passed away peacefully in Sunshine Lodge on Thursday, July 18, 2002 age 86. Predeceased by his parents and one brother; Dick is survived by his loving wife Jansje, they were married 51 years, and by his sons Henk (Judy) Heuvelman of Ucluelet and Bernie (Barbara) Heuvelman of Revelstoke and by his grandsons; Joe, Geoff, and Sam. Also survived by his brother Henk (Corrie) Heuvelman of the Netherlands and by his nieces and nephews.
Dick retired from his career with Elk Falls Pulp Mill as mechanic; he enjoyed tinkering at home and working in his gardens, time with his dog’s and photography. Very special thanks to the staff of Sunshine Lodge for the wonderful care they gave Dick and also to Dr. Kerry Baerg. Dick’s Memorial Service was held on Tuesday, July 23rd at 1:00 PM at Campbell River Baptist Church with Pastor Doug Krause officiating.
Arrangements entrusted to ISLAND FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, 103 – 909 Island Highway (Georgia Quay). Memorial donations made in Dick Heuvelman’s name to the Sunshine Lodge, 375 – 2nd Ave., Campbell River, BC V9W 3V1 would be appreciated.
