Thomas Underwood, age 73 years, of Whitecourt, AB, succumbed to cancer, surrounded by his family, on January 14, 2019.
David is survived by his wife of 45 years, Ann; daughters, Andrea Underwood, Leanne (Wyatt) Evans and Lauri (Jon) Louie; son, Jeffrey (Janelle) Underwood; grandchildren, Austin, Corbin, Jordan, Abigail, Ava, Everly and Aria; as well as nieces, nephews, and tended family. David was a loving father, husband, grandfather and friend to everyone.
David worked as a heavy duty mechanic for many years, later completing his career as a guard and janitor for the Campbell River RCMP detachment until he retired and moved to Alberta to be closer to his grandchildren. He spent free time puttering around and completing household projects for his wife Ann.
A special thank you to Dr. Roos and the nursing staff at the Whitecourt Hospital for their loving care and support during David's final days.
A private gathering will be held for family and friends in Campbell River in spring 2019. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Stollery Children's Hospital Foundation, #800, 8215 - 112 Street, Edmonton, AB, T6G 2C8.
