In loving memory ~
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of David Richard Conrod on October 19, 2022 with his brother Roger and friend Tim by his side. David was born on May 12th, 1943 to Thomas and Christina Conrod in Cumberland, B.C. His family later moved to Campbell River, where they built their home at Shelter Point and shared many happy memories together. David graduated from Carihi in 1961, earned a Bachelor of Education degree from UVIC in 1966 and a Master of Education degree from SFU. He was a well-respected educator and principal with the Vancouver School District.
David is survived by his brothers Phillip (Gloria), Roger (Wendy), his nieces Rachelle, Carmen, Sherri, Krista (Jesse), nephew Todd (Stephanie), great-nephew Thomas and great- nieces, Kenley and Bria.
David will always be remembered for his generous, loving, and kind spirit. He was witty. had a cheeky sense of humour and always enjoyed sharing a good laugh. He made friends wherever he went and found the positives in any situation. David went above and beyond for his loved ones and was thoughtful in all that he did.
David was an avid gardener, loved to travel, fish and explore the islands around Campbell River in his boat. What he cherished most was time with family and friends.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of Burnaby General and St. Michael's Hospice for the care given to David and to Tim, who never left his side.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the BC Children's Hospital Foundation, Burnaby Hospital Foundation or BC Cancer Agency Foundation in David's honour. Following David's wishes, there will be no celebration of life.
