December 28, 1974 – October 18, 2015

It is with great sadness that we announce that Darren Todd Cooledge, 40, passed away on October 18, 2015 as a result of a brain aneurysm. Darren leaves behind the young family he cherished most in this world, the love of his life Tricia Savin and their four children – Kate (12), Nola (9), Carson (8) and Claire (5).

Above all else, Darren was a devoted and loving father to his four children. He sang and danced with his kids all the time and they marveled at how he knew the words to every song on the radio. He enjoyed many sports, in particular playing rec hockey with the Royal Coachman Avengers. Darren shared his dad’s love of cars, often reading about them and discussing with friends and family. He followed in his dad’s footsteps and worked in the heavy equipment industry, the last several years in the parts department of T-Mar Industries in Campbell River.

Darren was predeceased by his father Wayne Harold Cooledge and mother Donna Arlene Parkinson. He is survived by his “other mother” Carol Cooledge and his stepfather Terry Parkinson; his siblings Jason (Carole) Cooledge, Marcia (Sam) Ghadban, Robert (D’arcy) Gillespie and Brenna Gillespie; Tricia’s parents Gary and Barb Berube, her siblings Chad (Alida) Savin, Pam (Stefan) Herschler, Rachel (Chris) Roberts and Beth Berube and grandfather Bub Lea; many nieces and nephews and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday October 24, 2015, at 1pm at the Eagles Hall, 1999 14th Ave., Campbell River, BC. For those wishing to do so, donations in Darren’s memory can be made to Cameryn’s Cause for Kids Society.
