Daniel Laurent "Danny" Pelletier

Daniel Laurent Pelletier (Danny) passed away Oct. 7, 2019, at the age of 89. He was predeceased by his parents, Wilfrid and Alma, older brothers Donat, (Aline), Theodore, (Beatrice), Dominique, (Josie), sister Claire, (Henry) Kunkel, and his son, Danny, who passed away on Nov. 21, 1980. He leaves to mourn, sisters Blanche Aubin, Joan (Frank) Meckelberg / Guy, Cecile (Bill) Quinlan / Willows, brothers, Archie, Wilfrid (Sandra), Lionel, (Jean), Raymond (Virginia) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marguerite May Pelletier (nee Irvine), children: Irene Rowbotham (Dave), Howard, Shirley Neil (Scott), step children: Linda Christiansen (Don), Lou Pelletier (Terry Lockett), C-Ane Deriache (Willy), 13 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Daniel was born on June 18, 1930, at Domremy SK. He married Marguerite on Dec. 15, 1962. In 1964 they moved to Campbell River where they lived for 18 years, before moving to Quadra Island and building their own house in 1980. Danny worked for BC Ferries for 10 year while on Quadra Island. In 2004 when he and Marguerite retired, they moved back to Campbell River. He moved into the Discovery Harbour Care Centre (formerly New Horizon Care Centre) in 2005, where he spent his final years.
Danny volunteered for the Campbell River Citizens on Patrol for 12 years and was an Eagle Service Club member for 15 years. He ran his own appliance service business, as he was very good at fixing just about anything. He worked for Campbell River Woodworkers for 5 years and at the Quinsam Hotel. In his spare time he enjoyed camping with his family and some fishing. He was also well known for his great sense of humour and love of children.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Discovery Harbour Care Centre in Campbell River for their excellent care.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at pm on January 30, 2020, at the centre.
