In Loving Memory ~
It is with profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved son, brother, and friend, Connor Daniel Morrison, who left us far too soon at age 27.
Connor grew up in Campbell River and spent much of his childhood in the hockey rink and outdoors motorbiking or skateboarding with his many friends. He loved fishing with his brothers and spending his younger years at his Grandma's house in Manitoba. His childhood was magical, filled with endless outdoor adventures and the joy of exploring nature.
From the moment he joined the Canadian Coast Guard at 18, Connor poured his heart and soul into his work. Starting out as deckhand to Leading Deckhand on the Sir Wilfred Laurier, and working the Mackenzie River, then serving as Winchman/Boatswain's Mate on the Sir Wilfred Grenfell with his dream role as Boatswain just on the horizon. Aside from serving on Fleet, Connor took part in a wide range of programs, including Search and Rescue, Aids to Navigation, Science, Conservation and Protection, mountain-top refueling, provisioning of light stations. Connor was deeply committed to building strong connections with his shipmates, forming lasting relationships both on duty and off.
Connor's love for the sea was matched only by his love for people. His Family - Mom (Terilyn), Dad (Dave), brothers Jared (Katherine), Tucker, Hunter, and sister Carly and (Bastian) - will miss him beyond words. His best friend Liam and loyal dog Boog will forever carry his memory in their hearts. Connor also leaves behind cherished cousins, his niece Sidney, nephew Nathan and many aunts, uncles and Grandma (Lynne).
He was a man of pure heart, never one for material things, but always present in the moment, spreading unconditional love to those around him. He had an infectious smile that drew people in which as always, left a lasting impression. His zest for life was boundless, radiating energy and excitement in everything he did.
To honor Connor's memory, we ask that, in lieu of flowers, you share an act of kindness with someone, just as he would always have.
Sail Far and Wide, Connor,
your watch is now over us.
Your legacy of love and light will forever shine in the hearts of those who knew you.
