Colleen Mary Kostyshyn

Jan 29, 1953 – Jun 4, 2018
Passed away peacefully on June 4, 2018 at Port McNeill & District Hospital after an incredible battle against multiple myeloma.

Colleen was born in Hamilton, Ontario on January 29, 1953. She was the daughter of Steve Kostyshyn and Mary Kostyshyn (Lukasik). Colleen is survived by her partner Alan Moffat, brother Stephen (Claire) Kostyshyn, three sons, Jason (Marlo), Ian (Maritta) and Eric (Amanda) Zimmermann. She will be fondly remembered and missed by her six grandchildren, Justin, Tessa, Kaela, Laci, Eli and Ben Zimmermann, as well as members of the extended Moffat family including Jaylene, Alana (Mark) and daughter Vivien, and Eric.

Known as “Colleen from East of Java”, Colleen will be remembered for her strength and will, her love of family gatherings in the backyard, love of books and for the family record of the most consecutive “29th birthdays”.

As Colleen wished, no public services will be held such that those she touched can have the opportunity to remember her in their own private way.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation of Canada ( or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
