Cliff passed peacefully on June 24th, 2015.
Born in Ponoka, Alberta on February 8, 1939, he is survived by his wife Bonnie and children Duane (Joanne), Deane (Dianna), Dayle (Denise), and his grandchildren Brad (Myranda), Jessica, Kate, and Alison.
An avid sports fan, Cliff was involved in his children’s sports, serving on executives for Minor Soccer, and Baseball, and he had a passion for being an umpire. Many summer weekends the family spent fishing together, and the fall was hunting with his boys. He spent countless hours at the rink watching his grandchildren playing hockey.
He supported the Open Heart Society in fundraising efforts in Campbell River, helping to raise funds for much needed equipment.
At Cliff’s request there is no service, but there will be a family gathering to spread ashes in one of his favourite fishing spots, and donations to the First Open Heart Society in lieu of flowers is appreciated.
Our family are so appreciative for the incredible compassion of the 5th floor nurses and staff of the Nanaimo Hospital where Cliff’s final weeks were spent.
