Clarence “Leroy”

Born in Strasburg, Saskatchewan July 12, 1930 passed away peacefully Jan. 30th, 2004 at home surrounded by his loving family.

Predeceased by his wife Catherine, father, mother and sister Fern.

He is sadly missed by his wife Sharon, daughters Mary, JoAnne(Bud); stepsons Rob (Michelle); Russell (Alana); Doug (Tracey); grandchildren Caroline, Melissa, Jolene, Tyler, Kayla; brother Mervin; sisters Ruby, Merle, Hazel and numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Leroy worked for Crown Zellerbach in Ocean Falls and Campbell River retiring after 35 years. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.

He spent many hours umpiring for the local fastball leagues, volunteered for the Canadian Cancer Society, First Open Heart Society, C.O.P.S., and St. Peter’s Church.

Leroy faced his illness with a quiet dignity and enormous strength.

Services were held Feb. 3rd, 2004 at 2:00 at St. Peter’s Anglican Church. Flowers are gratefully declined; tributes, if desired, may be made to the First Open Heart Society.
