Clara passed away peacefully June 25, 2014 at the Campbell River Hospital. Predeceased by her husband John Boby, her parents John and Jenny Parkins from Ottawa, Ontario, her brother John Parkins and sister Joan Henderson from Ottawa.
She is survived by her sister Jenny Anderson from Reno, Nevada, by her 5 children; John, David, Peter (Heather), Nancy (Ken), and Wendy (Wade), seven grandchildren; Aaron, Jennifer, Darcy, Carissa, Kelsie, Melissa and Clinton, and 4 great-grandchildren; Ryder, Coen, Jayden and Keegan.
Clara had very fond memories of her childhood in Ottawa and their “Air Force days.” She and John retired from the RCAF to Campbell River in 1964, where they raised their five children.
Mom loved her family deeply. She loved to sing, shop and work in her garden.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the caring staff at Golden Grove, where Mom spent the last 4 years – not only for their exceptional care, but for their friendship.
We would also like to thank the nurses on 3rd floor N for their compassion and care this past month. You were all amazing…especially “John and Natale” – thanks so much.
We will be having a Celebration of Life for Mom on Saturday, July 5th at 2pm. A “Tea in the Garden” at Nancy’s house, 1868 Carlyle Crescent.
