Christopher Robert Smythe

Feb. 10, 1982 - March 1, 2010

It is with great sadness we announce the sudden tragic passing of our dear son and brother, Christopher Robert Smythe.

Chris is survived by his mother Bonnie Helsdon, his father Bob (and Maureen) Smythe, his brothers and their families, Brandon Smythe (Sandra & Macy) and Jordan Smythe (Crystal & Jordy), by his Gramma Rosie, and by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Chris was a skilled fish farmer, he loved his job and the crews he worked with. The glow in his eyes and the smile on his face when he talked about his fish farming job was touching and inspiring.

Chris was a kind, gentle and loving man. He deeply loved his family and will always be deeply loved and remembered by each one of us. He will always be a part of who we are. Having him in our lives has left us richer and better than we ever could have been without him.

We would like to say a special thanks to the nurses and respiratory staff on the third floor at the Campbell River Hospital.

And a very special thank you to the compassionate staff on the ICU at the Victoria General Hospital for their caring and thoughtfulness towards Chris and us, his family, for the precious time they gave us to surround Chris with our love for him in his final hours and for allowing him to pass in dignity and peace.

A Celebration of Chris’ Life will be held in Campbell River at the Christian Life Fellowship Hall at 455 Merecroft Road

at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 13, 2010.

The service will be followed by a cold food (salads, cold meat, cheese, buns, etc) potluck for family and close friends. When you arrive for Chris’ Celebration of Life, please see someone at the door to find out where to drop off your food for the potluck before the service begins at 1 p.m.
