December 23, 1944 - June 1, 2020
With love and sadness we announce the passing of Charlie on June 1, 2020. After a courageous battle with cancer, he was surrounded by family and friends at home, the room filled with love. He transitioned to his new journey with the help of Dr. McEwen and Nurse Charlotte through the help of MAID. Thank you for your compassionate care.
Charlie leaves behind his wife of 41 years Anne, son Tyler (Janet), daughter Leah (Chris), grand daughters Serena, Shyanne, and Alli, brother Bill, brother in law Scott Inrig (Glenda), niece and nephew.
Charle has various different careers over the years from mechanic, welder, sales, driver of many different rigs - never a dull moment.
Charlie loved camping, especially at Heriot Bay and Sayward, fishing, hunting and creating interesting beautiful things in his shop. His garden was his pride and joy an he shared his bounty with many. He also loved to gamble - both the lottos and especially at the casino, plus the many bus trips to various casinos over the years. Charlie, Jerry Roberts and "Crabby Bob' Hutter worked on many projects together over the years. Now there are only two musketeers. His talents and friendship will be sorely missed by many.
Charlie loved to share stories of growing up on the family homestead on Denman Island. Memories of that time of his life were very special to him.
Much gratitude to the excellent care received from Quinsam Medial Group and Island Health.
In Lieu of flowers, donations to the BC Cancer Society would be appreciated. No service due to Covid19 restrictions - a private gathering will be held at a later date.
