In loving memory ~
Catherine Ewan (Cathy) passed away very peacefully in Campbell River on January 22nd, 2023, after a short illness and many wonderful years serving people and the God whom she loved. Cathy was predeceased by her loving husband Jim of forty-four years. She will be greatly missed by her two daughters, Sandy and Heather, her son-in-law Mark, her two wonderful grandsons, David and Steven, and very dear friends, Lan and Tran.
Cathy grew up in Port Arthur, Ontario then moved to beautiful Vancouver, B.C. when she was just eighteen years old. Cathy was always ready for adventure. She loved people, loved to laugh, bake, host parties, and spend time with family and friends. Together with her husband, Cathy travelled to many countries visiting missionary friends, helped where needed, and made lasting friendships with many of the people they met. After retirement, Cathy and Jim moved to Nigeria for two years and volunteered with SIM. After her husband passed away, Cathy did not slow down. Each year she eagerly packed her bags and headed to East Africa to spend three months living in small villages with Sandy, who worked as a nurse establishing rural health care programs with SIM. When Cathy was home, her family and two grandsons were her passion. She loved them so much.
Cathy's family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at both Berwick and Evergreen Seniors Home for their kindness. To all the staff at Evergreen, thank you for making our mom feel safe and loved until the time of her passing. Thank you Dr. Walker and Dr. Krell for providing Cathy with excellent medical and dental care. You are both appreciated.
It is always sad to say goodbye, but we know that Cathy has passed from this life into the loving arms of her Saviour, Jesus Christ.
We will meet again.
