September 28th, 1917 – June 6th, 2016

Loved but not forgotten, with sad hearts we announce the passing of Camillia Glover.

Camillia was born in Trail, B.C. and was known as the Shoal Bay bride when she married the love of her life Oscar (Bud) Glover in 1935. There was a strong south eastern wind blowing that day and Bud had to row to Rock Bay to pickup the flowers for the wedding. They spent their honeymoon in Campbell River.

She lived a very adventurous life, living in different logging camps and then in a float house in Otter Cove, where she had her son Richard, and Christina followed after, along with son Danny. They settled down in Campbell River in 1949 where Oscar built the family home with hammer and handsaw, with the help of his 9-year-old son Richard.

Camillia resided in their home until 2011 when she moved to Ironwood Place. It was a family joke that Camillia always took too much time getting ready which lead to Oscar buying faster boats to catch the tides and get thru the narrows. Family was very important to Camillia. One granddaughter enjoyed a special bond and “Gramma” would make her special rice pudding with canned milk. They always laughed and teased granddaughter Diana about this. As Diana once had to sit at the counter and eat her cereal with canned milk. Eventually it had to be thrown out. Camillia loved her birthdays and always consulted with her daughter Christina to ensure she had a cake ordered. She really enjoyed the monthly birthday parties at Ironwood Place. Dancing was her favourite pastime. She enjoyed Country & Western and Romantic music and in later years Daniel O’Donnel. Camillia loved her Bingo and played for many years and won often. She always had a great big grin when speaking about winning. She enjoyed being in Senior Olympics, paying shuffleboard and cards. Camillia enjoyed the simple things in life, such as looking at her flowers thru the kitchen window or scratch and win, time with her grown children, grandchildren and friends. She always had time to serve tea and cookies and show pictures.

Camillia who was predeceased by her husband Oscar in 2007, after celebrating 72 years of marriage is now celebrating her final reunion dance with the love of her life.

Camillia leaves her sister Angelina Magalowski, niece Stella and nephew Clarence, son Richard and Aline Glover of Sayward, BC, daughter Christina and Ross Vienneau of Campbell River, son Danny and Maureen Glover of Campbell River; grandchildren Denise, Diana & Dan, Yvonne, Robbie, John-Paul, Leah, Dale & Kristina; great-grandchildren Tasha, Raymond, Danny, Tamara, Jenniffer, Amanda, Martina, Kayla, Michael, Arianna, Lynnette, April, Kevin and Kyrsten, along with great-great grandchildren Siearra, Sarah, Rachel, Jasmine, Jessica, Caleb, Isaac and Matthew.
