Passed away on April 17, 2015 at New Horizons Care Home in Campbell River, BC. Blanche is predeceased by her husband Herbert in 2000, brother George Hipwell of Merville, and mother Charlotte and father James Hipwell. She is survived by her son Lawrence (Juanita) Wheatley of Campbell River, daughters; Betty (Ken) Seeley of Campbell River and Ann (Dave) Underwood of Whitecourt, Alberta, grandchildren; Brenda, Anita and Wade Wheatley and their mother Ladona, Chuck and Chris Lindhout and their father Ben, Andrea, Jeff (Janelle) Underwood, Leanne (Wyatt) Evans, Lauri (Jon) Louie, great grandchildren; Alysa and Devon Evensen, Nash and Talen Oostenbroek, Everly Underwood, Ava, Austin, Abigail Evans and Jordan Louie, Corbin Underwood, Cory Lindhout, Alysha Lindhout, Hanna, and Blake Wheatley.

Blanche and Herb were married on April 3, 1943 and lived in Merville. They then moved to Oyster Bay where they raised their children and at Christmas sold Christmas Trees from their home property.

The family remembers her wonderful dinners on special occasions, fresh baked goods, bread and apple pies! You would often see her out in her flower garden tending her dahlias, flags and gladiolas. She took pride in having at least one of every colour!

She spent many tireless hours working in her vegetable and berry gardens, harvesting and canning what she grew.

Everyone always enjoyed the Easter egg hunts and family get together in the back yard and eating applies and plums right from the tree.

She loved a good card game at the Grantham Hall and spent endless hours crocheting and knitting blankets, slippers and sweaters which she gave away to family and friends. You knew you could always get a good cup of tea or coffee and delicious home baking in her kitchen! She will be missed and lovingly remembered by family and friends.

A special thank you goes out to the New Horizons Care Home for their excellent care of our mom and grandmother.
