It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Beverley (Bev) Janet McDonald at the age of 78 on April 11, 2017 at the Comox Valley Hospice. Bev was born on June 7, 1938 to George and Dora Kuhn in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Bev had a wonderful and exciting life. After leaving high school and becoming a paralegal she married James McDonald in 1962. The two moved from Winnipeg to Port Moody, BC to start new careers and to raise their family. Bev went back to school to become a medical stenographer and was at one time, one of the fastest typist in BC.

Upon losing her husband Jim in 1990, Bev decided to move closer to her mom and dad in Campbell River, BC. It was here that mom volunteered for hospice and became a lioness for many years.

Mom loved to travel and ventured to Egypt, Russia, Europe, hot air ballooned in Turkey and swam in the Thames. Her last trip involved Peru, Ecuador, hiking Machu Picchu and the Galapagos islands with her daughter Jen.

She is predeceased by her husband James, mother and father George and Dora Kuhn. Bev is survived by her son Chris (Veronica) with baby girl on the way, daughter Jen (Mark) and granddaughters Kennedy and Taylor.

The family would like to thank the amazing staff at the Hospice in Comox, our angel Dr. Sue Hunter, Dr. Kind and special friends Cathy, John and Susan. Our thanks to our uncle Bob and aunt Marie Kuhn for a warm bed and lots of laughter on our many trips to Vancouver for tests. Thanks also go out to Jen Herke who was our constant taxi service.

Any donation in Mom's name can be made to any hospice or cancer care facility. No service by request.

"A life filled with love laughter grace and dignity to the very end"

We will miss you Mom but you are always with us.
