It is with infinite sadness in our hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Bertha was born in Switzerland and came to Canada as a young girl with her mother, father and three brothers. At age 18 she married her sweetheart Romeo. They lived a happy life in Sayward for over 50 years, moving to Campbell River in 2004.
Bertha was a scenic painter, quilter, and gardener extraordinaire. She was a vibrant, smiling, vivacious, practical, tender, talented, loving, friendly, and beautiful lady.
Predeceased by her husband Romeo, in June 2005. Bertha is survived by daughters Juliet (Rocky) of Revelstoke, Barbara (Frank) of Merville, Ramona (Roland) of Sayward and son Ceasar (Susan) of Red Deer; Grandchildren Aza, Silas, Naomi, Jason, Jordan, Myta, Elliot, Jayme, Juli, Michael, and Miles; Great-grandchildren Alyssa, Stefan, Jade, Zion, Soelli, and Alasdair.
A celebration of her life will take place at the Kelsey Centre in Sayward at 1:00pm. Saturday, April 8th, 2006, after a graveside service at the Sayward Cemetery at 12 noon.
