BARBARA-ANN STEFANITSIS

(NEE RATUSHNIAK)

JUNE 19, 1948 - JUNE 17, 2003

Campbell River has lost a great person. She was not a politician, novel writer, or an inventor and we don’t think

they will erect a monument or a statue in her name but she was a great wife, mother, daughter, sister,

grandmother and above all, a great friend.

She was called upon by the Lord two days short of her 55th birthday, after a courageous and lengthy battle with

cancer. She was supported and surrounded by her family until her last breath. She will be forever loved and

immensely missed by her husband and soul-mate of 38 years George, daughters Angela Ransom, Diana

(Stephen) Grant, Terina (Dean Graham) Stefanitsis, her mother, Barbara Ratushniak, her sisters and brothers,

Isobel Thompson, Sandra (Doug) Higgins, Harold (Bonnie) Ratushniak, Isobelle (Bobby) Casumpang, Gary Ratushniak, John Ratushniak, her

special blessings (Grandchildren) Alexander, Daryn, Devyn and Athena, and her nieces and nephews; Jason, Travis, Kevin, Krysten, Deidra,

Litsa, Anna, Christina (Dev), George, Vicky, and her extended Greek family in Vancouver.

She is pre-deceased by her father Harry Ratushniak (1992) and brother-in-law, Nicholas Stefanitsis (2000).

Barbara was born in Princeton, B.C. and has resided in Campbell River all her life. She cherished the many friendships she formed over her

brief but extremely rewarding life.

The family would like to offer a special thank you to Dr. Arnold, Dr. Garson, Dr. Martins (Victoria), all the staff and nurses at the Victoria

Cancer Clinic, Home Care Nurses, Home Support Workers and the Palliative Care Staff at C.R. General Hospital as well as the many, many

friends of the family.

Please come and join the family for a Celebration of Barbara’s (Barbie’s) life to be held at the Ramada Inn, Campbell River, on Sunday, June

29th at 1 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, Barbara has requested donations, in her memory, to the local chapter of the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your

choice.
