January 17, 1929 - May 22, 2020
We sadly announce the passing of Audrey Ramona McCallum, a great lady and dear friend to many.
She was "born, raised, wed and bred" in Edmonton and moved to Campbell River in 1972. She and her late husband Jim owned and operated the Big Rock Motel. Many long-time friendships came from her 17 years at the motel as well as her love of fishing. She looked forward to spending summers with Jerry and Jody Phillips and had many fine adventures with them.
She enjoyed swimming, curling and golf and watching sports of all kinds especially the Toronto Blue Jays. In her early years she was a lifeguard and taught competitive swimming. Audrey cruised, made trips to warm islands and an annual visit to the Okanagan to visit Phyllis, Iris and Mary. Throughout her life Audrey was a volunteer extraordinaire and generously committed her time and often her butter tarts to events such as Flu Clinics, The Red Cross, Terry Fox Run, Shoreline Arts, Restore, Altrusa Club and many other local events. She received Senior of the Year Award from the City.
She was predeceased by her husband James, daughter Deborah and son Jim. Lovingly missed by Grandson Stacey (Keri) and Great Grandchildren Cole, Connor and Dakota as well as many nieces and nephews who adored her in Edmonton.
Our thanks to Dr. Rob Arnold and his staff, Dr. Larry Ness and Dr. Farias and also the Palliative Homecare Team.
No service by request.
