February 2, 1931 - February 2, 2019
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Arden Allingham on February 2, 2019 while vacationing in Mexico.

Arden was born in Kamsack, Sask. on February 2, 1931. He moved with his family from Sask. to Victoria in 1942, then to Campbell River where he completed his public schooling. After graduating he stayed in Campbell River, and worked and met and married his wife Roberta Black in 1955.

Arden and Roberta raised three children, Sharon, Mark and Jana who were the light of his life; Four grandchildren, Devin, Kurtis, Loren, Zoey, and great granddaughter Paisley.

Arden received his B.A. of Education at UBC and taught at N.D.S.S in Nanaimo, BC for 20 years. He was teacher and mentor to grade 12 students and was highly respected and admired for his caring nature. It was a unique class that he guided; he shared his extensive construction experience while building homes and music annexes for the Nanaimo School District.

He retired back to Campbell River in 1987 where he could be found working and puttering around the trailer park on the Campbell River. He and Roberta spent the past 32 years travelling south in the winter and to many areas of warmer sunshine.

Arden spent many a happy summer at Refuge Cove in Desolation Sound, surrounded by friends and family, with a smile from ear to ear. He loved his time alone "fishing" and relaxing on the "poop" deck with a glass of rye.

It was his 88th birthday the day he died, and what a life; well lived, well loved, with grace, dignity and one of the biggest hearts you could ever know. He will be greatly missed by all.
