LUOMALA, Anja Marjatta (Lappalainen)
March 26, 1931 - June 12, 2010
Passed away comfortably in Campbell River on the exact date she came to her beloved Canada in 1957. She is predeceased by her parents Mooses and Tynne of her birthplace Finland and her husband Peter. She is survived by her sons Leo and Allan (Kirsten) and grandchildren Michael, Skyler, Cassie and Sammy. She also leaves behind her brother Raimo of Nanaimo and numerous family members overseas. After travelling Canada and getting married she brought her family to Campbell River in 1971 where she made many friends. Special thanks go to Dr. Sutherland, the staff at Campbell River hospital and the people of New Horizons for the excellent and compassionate care she received. A special thanks to family friend Irene Charlton.
She will be interred at the old Campbell River cemetery with her late husband. As suiting her personality and request there will be no service but a celebration of her life will be held with family and friends at a later date. Flowers gratefully declined but donations to the C.R. Hospital auxiliary would be appreciated.
