Andrew DAWSON

Andrew Dawson, age 88 passed away on April 12, 2017 at 1:30 pm at New Horizons. Andy was born in Campbell River at Lourdes Hospital to Stewart and Mabel Dawson. His father, Stewart, was the first provincial constable stationed in Campbell River. Andy grew up on a farm located on present day New Horizon's property. He took his first job working in the logging industry. Soon after, he began work on the pile driver Gagne's, before buying the business with his brother Ron and Horsey Calnan, known as DCD Pile Driving. Andy with his wife, Dorene, raised six children and Al on their hobby farm in Oyster River. In Andy's leisure time. he enjoyed model trains, gun collecting, hunting and caring for his dogs, most recently, George. Andy will be lovingly missed by his family and friends.

He was predeceased by parents Stewart and Mabel Dawson, brothers Keith, Don and Bill, sisters Gladice, Margaret and son Kyle. He is survived by brother Ron, wife Dorene, daughters Yvonne, Joyce, Kim, Kori (Don), son Kurt (Shawna), Al (Faye) and many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family.

A service will be held on May 6 at 1:00pm at Sutton's Campbell River Funeral Home. Donations to New Horizons in Andy's name would be appreciated.
