It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Alex McKay at the age of 53.
Alex is predeceased by his grandparents: Alex Sr and Elsie McKay, Sam, and May Henderson. He is survived by his mom Katie McKay, father Edwin McKay, sister Sandra (Michael) Malone, nieces Keshia, Kenzie and Shanyce, sister Kimberly McKay and nephew Caleb.
He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, and many close friends.
Alex was born and raised here in Campbell River and has made many friendships. No one loved the ocean as much as him, his passion for fishing and crabbing was like no other. He truly did have a heart of gold, and The Crab King will be greatly missed by all.
Due to COVID-19, and Celebration of Life will be for the immediate family only.
