It is with great sadness we announce that Albertus (Bert) Kouwen went to be with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Saturday October 22, 2016 with his loving family by his side.
Bert was loved by all who knew him, He was predeceased by his daughter Julie, her husband Terry Ducommun and brother Lies Kouwen.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Verna; 2 children Rita Kouwen of New Westminster, Lora (Phil) Gomes of Bellingham Wa, 9 grandchildren; Jenna, Tanner, Meghan, Nathan, Isaac, Micah, Rachel, Chloe, Seth: brothers Roel, Henk (Diny), Klaas (Jitty), sister-in-law Janny all of the Netherlands and numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses of Campbell River Hospital for caring for Bert all these months.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, Nov. 4, 2016 at 11:00 am at Bethany Lutheran Church 201 Birch St., Campbell River, BC followed by a graveside service at Elk Falls Cemetery.
