In Loving Memory ~
It is with sadness and so much love we announce the passing of Alan James Bersey. Al as he was known to most, passed away peacefully at Discovery Harbour Care Centre at the age of 80. Left to cherish his love and memory are the love of his life, his wife Pat, children Jim (Helen) Bersey, Michelle (Phil) Stuart, Alan (Candace) Adams, Tina (Jim) Morrison, Brad (Amanda) Adams, 16 loving grandchildren, 9 precious great-grandchildren, his niece Danette & great nephew Grant and many extended family and friends.
The family was everything to Al, he loved & cherished every moment he spent with all of his family members. He was a proud husband, Dad, Papa, G Pa, & Uncle. He was well known and liked in the bowling community as well as his usual coffee stomping grounds.
Al was born in Comox and later settled in Campbell River. He worked in the logging industry for years as a driller/blaster and retired in the Kelsey Bay division after 33 years.
He loved bowling, going for coffee, lunch & breakfast dates with his wife, yearly family camping trips to Muchalat, spending time with family and working in the yard with his beloved wife & best friend.
In his last few years with us, he treasured Saturday brunch at Ricky's, Old Time Fiddlers, decorating his room for Christmas, his granddaughter Ava's visits, visits from his niece Danette & his trips to see the carvings with Jim & Helen.
A sincere heartfelt thank you goes to the Discovery Harbour Team particularly his Hornby family for the kindness, caring & comfort they showed him for his last 5 years.
As well, we would like to thank the third-floor nurses, doctors & staff at Campbell River hospital for the care and comfort you provided him during his last couple of stays.
He was a friend to all and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A tea & celebration of life will be held at a later date.
